Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Jamille Jones, is a proud member of the Bath & Body Works DEI team. Her primary responsibilities include driving DEI initiatives in BBW’s 1,750 stores across the U.S. and Canada and supporting six Inclusion Resource Groups (IRGs). How does your work impact the community? Our IRGs are a collective of diverse communities that foster an inclusive workplace and help shape the culture of our company. We’re passionate about doing good in the communities where we live and work and uplifting and empowering the underrepresented and underserved. I am fortunate to connect our associates to these opportunities.
How has the partnership with Besa supported your work? Besa makes it easy! Our IRGs are passionate about giving of their time, talent and treasures. I’m glad I have a partner like Besa to not only manage all the logistics, but also curate meaningful experiences for our team while supporting hundreds of non-profits.
What projects at BBW have been the most meaningful for you? Too many to count! I love that our Besa partnership has introduced me to non-profits I might not have been aware of otherwise. The most meaningful to me was our project with Motherful, which supports, empowers and nurtures single mothers. At the start of the pandemic, we wrote encouragement cards to be distributed to Motherful’s clients. My own mom is a single mother. I asked her what encouraging words she would’ve appreciated hearing as she was raising me. This Besa project fostered a conversation I had never had with my own Mom while also empowering others like her.
What does it mean to you as a leader in the community to support initiatives that are empowering people of diverse backgrounds? Uplifting and empowering the underserved and underrepresented is my life’s purpose. I’m truly blessed to have the opportunity to do that personally and professionally, and with partners like Besa, it makes the experience even more fulfilling.
