How does your work impact women in the community?
The mission of Dress For Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. We’ve learned that 100% of our clients identify a lack of appropriate apparel as an obstacle in obtaining employment. Part of my job is to ensure we adhere to our standards in providing the highest quality attire to suit our women. We want her to feel confident and look great when she nails the job interview and begins a new career!

How has the partnership with Besa supported your work?
Besa has been an amazing partner in supporting our mission by hosting after-hours events for volunteers! We could not do this work without you, and we are incredibly grateful for your commitment to serve women with us.

What programs are the most meaningful for you at Dress for Success Columbus?
We offer excellent services and programs, but Success Coaching is the most meaningful program to me because it’s for ALL women!

  • The woman thinking about switching careers.
  • The woman that knows she deserves a bonus or pay increase but has questions about what the best approach is.
  • The woman that is ready for a promotion but is unsure of how to start the conversation.

This program gives women the opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching with Human Resources before sitting down with an employer/potential employer. Our Success Coaches are vetted HR professionals with at least five years of industry experience. They are matched with clients to help prepare for upcoming interviews and learn how to answer some of the more common, but difficult HR questions.

To hire a career coach, it can cost $75 to $150 per hour, and a more in-demand career coach can charge $250 to $500 or more. At Dress For Success Columbus, all of our services and career development programs are free of charge!

As a leader providing services that empower women, what does Women’s History Month mean to you?
Women’s History Month is an opportunity to recognize and shed light on women’s accomplishments and how we’ve played a vital role in making a difference in the lives of many people in our communities throughout history.
